Trades are an agreement between two team owners to exchange one or more players. Trades can be processed with an uneven number of players as long as they do not violate any roster settings. Trading can be the most enjoyable part of the game, but it can also be a source of frustration for owners who don't understand certain policies or don't do their research on the player(s) involved in a trade.
PROPOSE A TRADE
First, you have to select which team you'd like to get the better of by trading with because of course, you're a savvy fantasy player who has never been on the wrong end of a trade. Once you're on their team page click on "Propose Trade" and then select the player(s) you wish to receive. You'll have to give up at least one player so select anyone you can still sleep comfortably parting with. After the trade is submitted the system will display a pending move on both your team's and the other owner's page.
ACCEPT A TRADE
If you're on the other end of it and another owner has proposed a trade to you then you're in the driver's seat. The power is in your hands - you can either accept or decline it. If you choose to ignore it that's ok too, the system will automatically cancel the trade offer within a specified number of days.
On the go? You can also do all of this from the Fantasy Football app (Android or iOS) too if away from the computer! Just a heads up, if the trade is accepted then the entire league will be emailed so the other owners can review it and even vote against it if your league rules dictate that.
There is no limit on the number of trades you can propose or accept.
All standard leagues use the following trade deadline:
- ALL trades must be accepted before Wednesday, November 25th, at 12pm ET.
NOTE: The trade deadline is only for trade transactions between teams. Owners are still free to add and drop players via free agency and waivers throughout the entire season.
TRADE REVIEW PROCESS
There is now a 48-hour trade review period after a trade is accepted which allows team owners the chance to review a trade after it's accepted. This is done to prevent unbalanced trades from processing or collusion between two teams. After the trade offer is submitted, the system will display a pending move on your team page, as well as on the other owner's page. In addition, the owner may receive an email informing them of the proposal had you selected that option during the trade offer process. That team owner can then go to his/her team page to review the deal, and either accept or decline it. If no action is taken within the specified number of days, the system will automatically cancel the trade offer. The pending move will then disappear on both team pages.
If the trade is rejected, the team proposing the trade will receive an email notifying them of that result. If the offer is accepted, the entire league will be notified via email and the other team owners can review it based on your league settings.
Remember, trade review period is 48 hours. The Waiver claim period is 24 hours in Standard Free Leagues.
Free leagues: During the trade review period, if four (4) of the ten (10) team owners vote to veto a trade it will be cancelled. A link on the main League Office page allows you to view pending trades and submit your veto should you so choose. 'li>
