Doan announced his retirement via The Arizona Republic on Wednesday. Doan will hang up his skates following a 21-year career that started with the old Winnipeg Jets, who moved to the desert and became the Coyotes. In all, the winger racked up an impressive 402 goals, 570 assists and 1,353 PIM in 1,540 games. Heading into the offseason, Arizona had informed the veteran that he wasn't going to be retained. Regardless of whether he was unable to secure a landing spot with another club or just couldn't bring himself to put on another sweater, Doan will go down as the ultimate Coyote and a potential Hall of Famer, though it's questionable whether he's compiled enough stats, having failed to reach 500 goals or 1,000 points in his career.
