Step 1 - Registration
To enter, log-in to your ESPN.com account or create a new account on ESPN.com if you haven't created one yet. After creating an account, you are ready to play Eliminator Challenge. A valid ESPN member name and password will be used as an identifier to sign in to game play, and to keep track of your entry's score and standing. If you are already a registered ESPN account holder, you do not need to go through the account creation process.
Step 2 - Game Settings
After you have signed in, you will be prompted with a "Play Now for Free" button. After you click on the button you will be automatically redirected to the "Entry Settings" page where you will be asked to name your entry and decide whether you would like email reminders. Name your entry - Use the text box to determine how your entry will be displayed in the game. Email Reminders - Use the radio buttons to select whether or not you'd like to receive email reminders pertaining to game locks and game rules. Once you have completed your game settings click on the "Continue" button.
Step 3 - Making Your Selections
The object of the game is simple: Correctly predict one winning team each week from all regularly scheduled games. Remember, you may not pick the same team to win twice during the season. So, choose wisely! You may make your picks at any time, and change any pick up until it begins.
Step 4 - Scoring & Prizes
Each winning pick is worth 1 point. The entry that accumulates the most points, and wins any tiebreakers, will win the grand prize, a $3,000 Amazon Gift Card.
There will also be a random drawing for 10 winners at the end of the season. Each entry is entered into the random drawing pool based on how many points the entry has accumulated that season. For example, an entry that correctly selected 5 winners throughout the season (5 points) would have 5 entries into the random draw.
Step 5 - Creating or Joining A Group
You have the option to group yourself with friends, co-workers, or completely random fans by joining or creating a group in the Group Directory. Within each group, your entry will be automatically ranked. Most of the groups in ESPN's Eliminator Challenge are public and can be joined at any time. If you want to play with a specific group of people you know, create a private group and make it only accessible to those whom you have given the group password. The creator of a group sets the group's name, motto, password (only if private). Groups can have an unlimited number of members and you can move your entry freely from one group to the next. All of this is easily found on the Group Directory page. There is no prize awarded for being the top entrant in your group. Groups that have a locked setting will officially lock at kickoff of the first Thursday night game (September 8th at 8:30pm ET). Certain group settings can be changed from the Update Group page, but, if you can't change the setting you'd like, you'll need to create a new group. There is no prize awarded for being the top entrant in your group.
