The potential winner may be required to provide EIV with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry.

8. HOW TO PLAY: After registering, contestants can participate in the game. The objective of College Bowl Pick 'em is to correctly select the "winning pick" for each game of the 2000-2001 College Bowls during the Point Accumulation Period.

The "winning pick" is defined as follows:
The "winning pick" for a particular game is considered to be the team with the higher number of points after the conclusion of the bowl game. For each correct pick, you will receive a designated number of Correct Pick Points (CPP). The Correct Pick Points for each game are not final and will change up to the kickoff of the particular game. The sum of the two participating team's CPP in every bowl game is 100. For example:

In the Gator Bowl, Florida State is playing Virginia Tech. The CPP for a Florida State winning pick is 36 and the CPP for an Virginia Tech winning pick is 64. If you pick Florida State and they win, your entry accumulates 36 points. If Virginia Tech wins, and you have Florida State selected, you are awarded 0 points.

All contestants are allowed (but not required) to submit their predicted score for the tiebreaker games (Rose Bowl) as indicated as such in the selection area. This prediction is used for overall tiebreaker purposes only. If no predicted score is submitted for an entry, it is given a default prediction of 0 points to 0 points. It is possible for a default prediction to win a tiebreaker.

9. SCORING: Contestants receive the assigned CPP (Correct Pick Points) for each correctly selected "winning pick," as determined above. They receive no points for a non-winning selection, as determined above. Contestants must obey all applicable restrictions associated with the contest they join as outlined in Section 4. In particular, they must make sure their picks are submitted by the deadline for each game. Any selections submitted after the deadline are considered invalid, and no points will be awarded to them. For prize purposes, scores are accumulated over the entire Point Accumulation Period.

10. PRIZES/WINNER SELECTION: One (1) Grand Prize winner will be chosen using the following criteria: The Grand Prize will be awarded at the end of the Point Accumulation Period to the contestant whose entry has accumulated the most Correct Pick Points over the entire Point Accumulation Period. In the event of a tie between two or more entries, the winning entry will be determined by the following tiebreakers, in order of listing:

Tiebreaker #1 - The entrant(s) who correctly predicts the winner of the Rose Bowl.
Tiebreaker #2 - The entrant(s) whose predicted score for the Rose Bowl is the closest to the combined actual score using the sum of the differences for both teams.
Tiebreaker #3 - The smallest difference in the predicted score of the Rose Bowl's winning team compared to the actual score of the winning team.
Tiebreaker #4 - The smallest difference in the predicted combined score of the two Rose Bowl teams compared to the actual combined score of the game without being over the actual total.
In all cases, an entry that does not win a tiebreaker is eliminated from consideration. In the event that there is still at tie, all remaining eligible entries will be entered into a random drawing for the prize.

From among all eligible entries received, the entrants who earn the most points in their respective scoring systems are declared the winners. If more than one entry ties for any prizes, the tiebreakers listed above are used to determine the final standings.

PRIZES/WINNER SELECTION: One (1) Grand Prize winner, and one (1) Second Place Winner will be chosen using the following criteria. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Point Accumulation Period to the contestants whose entries have accumulated the most points over the entire Point Accumulation Period.

GRAND PRIZE (1): The owner who accumulates the highest point total (and wins any pending tiebreaker) will win a Compaq laptop. (Estimated Retail Value (ERV) US$2,000)

SECOND PLACE (1): The owner who accumulates the second highest point total (and wins any pending tiebreaker) will win a Compaq Personal Audio (MP3) Player. (ERV US$300)

All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) ALL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.
